Week 100 The Final Week!

Well this week was my last week as a missionary.
It was a great week though. Daniel got baptized! The baptism was scheduled for 11am and so Elder Ricks and I got there to fill the font and we discovered that there was a ton of scout people there in the cultural hall. We found out that the event they were having didn’t end till 11:30am so we were like crap. So we frantically called brother Shaffer (he was baptizing him) and Daniel and everyone else in the ward to push the baptism back to 12:30. But it worked out well. And he got baptized! Daniel was so happy! He told me that when he got baptized he felt a “warm tingly feeling” he showed up to church Sunday in his new suit and tie. Then since it was fast and testimony meeting he got up and shared his testimony and it was awesome!
It’s crazy how fast these 2 years have flown by. I have loved my mission and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

But here are some pics from the week!

Week 99

Hey mom!
This week was good! Salina is doing great! This week I had my departing interview with President McCuistion (it’s an hour log
interview and your just talk about going home the whole time) it was really helpful but weird because it kinda sunk in a little more that I’m coming home so soon. But this week we made a lot of good progress with our two Investigators that we are mainly working with. (Ken & Daniel) they both came to church. Daniel is getting baptized this
Saturday. Ken is doing good he has cut his cigarette usage in half which is pretty huge. So that’s good. But that’s what has been going on with me. This week we will be setting stuff up for Daniels baptism
and then we have MLC Thursday. It weird to think that this is my last full week as a missionary. But we had a meeting in Junction City this week with the stake president and I had some time to go and visit Ramon! Elder Bryan & I baptized him. He is so cool! But is kinda having a hard time but his testimony is still real strong. I was so happy I got to go see him!
Thanks for finding out about my homecoming. Do you know how much time I’ll have? I don’t need to know now. My plan is to just wing it but I’ll put some thought into it.
So I haven’t called the technology missionary about it yet. But I’m sure it will be fine. You can use the money towards a phone. What kind of phone will I be getting?
Thanks for being the bestest mom ever! Love ya tons! I think I have some pics from this week so I’ll send them.

Week 98

Hey mom!
This week was really good. We got a media referral last week & it was for a guy named Daniel. He came to church last week. And this week we have been teaching him. He is awesome! He wants to get baptized too! When we taught him about the word of wisdom and he went into the kitchen and put all of his coffee and tea in a bag and gave it to us
to throw away! He came to church again this week. So he is doing good. He is on date to get baptized the 4th of August so that will be my last weekend in the mission so that’s cool! Hopefully everything goes
well and that he’ll get baptized then rather than later.
We had just little contact with Jeff (the guy from Walmart) he is just so busy with work so yeah... but that’s okay.
The weather has been just really hot. Thursday we had a huge 10min storm. It was a crazy intense storm. Where it just poured harder then I’ve ever seen and and it was crazy windy I was outside for 5 seconds
and I was soaked. But other than that the weather has been so hot.
That’s awesome Austin is home!

I’m glad to hear that dad & grandpa are doing good. It’s okay don’t worry I’m not getting trunky and still working hard.

Hey question! So my device fee to take my ipad home was $81 I paid it with my home card and got the email saying that it worked but on my portal it says that I still haven’t paid for it. Could you check & see if it charged my card? Then I’ll let the technology missionary know so I can get it figured out. Thanks!

Week 97

So this week was good I had exchanges with the APs and I went with Elder Hunter. We go home together. Then we had Zone Conference on
Wednesday. It was my last one so I gave my departing testimony. It was weird to think that that was my last Zone Conference. But our investigator Jeff came to church to that was good. He liked it. But it’s freaking hot in Kansas. But that’s pretty much what has been going on with me.
So that’s not good that rainbow snow might be at its end. It has to last long enough for Dylan to get home so we can get one together again. I’ll be sad if it ends before then. Elder Flores(my trainer) wants to try to come to my homecoming and asked me what time it is at but i don’t know. What time will it be at?

Week 96

Hey Mom!
My week was really good! For the 4th of July we we had a ward breakfast and then a member had us over for a cookout for lunch & then for dinner a member had us over for some carne asada and then we went to another members house for fireworks. President allowed us to be out till 10:30pm that night so we had a lot of fun watching fireworks. The firework show wasn’t anything compared to the griffins shows but it was still pretty good. Then for my birthday we went to a buffet for lunch and that was about it. I did get the package thanks!
This week we met a guy named Jeff. We actually met him last Monday at Walmart. He asked us if we were LDS and we said yes and then he was like cool I was thinking about  coming to that church & learning about it. But then he just kinda stopped the conversation & kept working (he worked a Walmart) but then I was like hey well all we do is talk to people and help them learn about the church. And so we got his number and we have been teaching him this whole week. He is awesome and loves that we have a prophet on the earth. He has been keeping his commitments too. At Walmart he worked sundays so he couldn’t come to church but then the day we met him in Walmart he got a different job offer at a place that he didn’t have to work weekends so this next Sunday his is coming. Oh he also wants to get baptized so
that’s awesome! He has quite the past on him and had just moved to Salina a couple months ago to look for change in his life.
Right now I’m in Wichita we had exchanges so I’m going to go make some visits to mis amigos in Kellogg. Because today is our pday.
Dad says you are taking good care of him so good job! That would of been cool to go to Elders watts homecoming he is awesome! But dads important. But that’s what’s going on with me!
It’s so weird to think I have one month left. It doesn’t feel to real yet though. It honestly probably won’t until I get to Utah. Haha. Love ya!

After lunch on my Birthday!

I planted this sunflower from a little seed in a cup one of my last weeks in liberal then I brought it to Salina and now it’s huge!

Week 95

Hey everyone!
I have been really bad about sending weekly emails so I thought that I'd send one this week. So this week I had transfers and elder Boyack went home and my new companion in salina is elder Ricks. He is a fun guy.
We have been working a lot with our investigator Ken he is so awesome. He has a crazy past and so we have been helping him overcome his trials and to understand the atonement. When elder Boyack and I met him he hadnt prayer for a long time. So after working with him for a month he is now praying every morning and night! It's amazing to see how since he has been doing that how much better and happier he is. He has been making slow but steady progress. And is such a great guy. He wants to be baptized but it's gonna take him some time.
Also a funny story that happened this week. We got the cops called on us. Haha. We were pulled over on a road in a neighborhood. And we had to make some calls and message some people. And we had been there for like 20min and then there was a knock on the car window. So I turned and looked and it was a cop. So I rolled down the window.
Me- Hello..
Cop- Is everything alright?
Me- Yeah we are doing great! How are you?
Cop- Good. Some one called and said that you guys have been parked here for a long time and they said you two were fighting
Me- really? We have just been making some phone  calls and laughing a lot. We can move somewhere else though if some one is bothered by us.
So that was really funny because the cop was really confused but then she left told us we were fine and life carried on.
But that was my week! Love y'all!

Week 94

So for my last transfer I’ll be staying in Salina and Elder Ricks will
be my companion. He served in Salina as a ZL before boyack and I got
here so he is back now. I don’t know him too well but he is a good
guy. He is an english speaking missionary.

This are going great! We had two baptisms! Chris and Jeanne Coyle got
baptized! They have been working with missionaries for a long time.
But since they finally got married they got baptized. They are
awesome.
Yeah we had to do a musical number for the mission presidents
devotional. And we didn’t know until like Wednesday night and so it
wasn’t very good. I wasn’t going to sing but then the APs told us
Saturday that we all had to do it :( it’s kinda weird that marissa
filmed part of it. Oh well...
I bet having Kevin’s kids has been a party!  Sorry to hear about your ankle :(
I honestly don’t need anything other then my contacts every thing is good.
I think I have a lot of pictures from the week so I’ll send them to you.

Week 93

Hey there Family!
My week has been good. But very busy. Wednesday we went to hays to help clean out an apartment and that took forever then we had exchanges with the elders in great bend in salina and we got back at like 5pm so we had no time. Then the next morning we had service for this older lady at 10am so we showed up and she wasnt there so we called her and she told us to come to her storage unit at 12 instead so that was annoying and then we went and we had to load up a whole U-haul truck and that took almost 3 hours. It was a ton of stuff and there was only 4 of us. Then we had to clean up the old sisters apartment in salina a couple hours after that so those whole 2 days were a lot of hard work and not a ton got done. It was crazy. Transfers are not this Wednesday but the next. Ill be staying in Salina because I doubt that they will white wash the salina zls twice in a row. ZL areas never get white washed. But Ill get a new companion. I dont have to pay for a phone but I have to buy a take home fee for my ipad. But Ill pay that with my debit card. Dang thats gonna be quite the birthday. Thats awesome that my bike got sold! Thanks! Its in good condition so Ill leave it for here and make sure she gets it. Love ya mom!

Hi Grace and Tommy! Its good to hear from you Ive missed you both so much! I love you both so much too! I hope tommy doesnt actually have wood in his armpit. If so hurry and get it out!

Week 92

Hey mom!
This week was another busy one. And a hot one it was so hot and humid this week and it was in the 100s a couple of times. We had interviews this week and President McCuistion showed up late and so we had a ton of extra time after the APs gave their training so they had us give a training as well & we just made it up on the spot & it was probably the worst training ever. But everyone knew that it was on the spot so they had sympathy for us...I hope. We also had MLC this week it was a good time. But I got my bike fixed. I just had to buy a $20 part and now it’s good as new. Do you know if that person is going to buy it? I hope so. I got to jump on a trampoline today for the first time in like a year or maybe more. So it was fun. A member had us over for breakfast and they had a nice trampoline with a little basketball hoop to dunk on and so all is missionaries got on and had a party. It was fun but it was really hot. But that’s what’s been going on. We are going bowling here soon. So that’s the plan for today.
That’s awesome that Braxton came by and got a hair cut. Is he doing good? I should probably email him.
Sounds like you had a good week good to hear.
No rush on the contacts. I still have a pair I haven’t opened yet so I won’t need them for a month. I honestly just need a new pair to wear my last couple of weeks. So don’t worry about getting it to me soon.
Love ya mom!
