8 Months Down!

Hey Everyone!
This week was pretty good. Tuesday we went to the branch presidents house for dinner. He asked me to give a talk Sunday. So Sunday I gave a talk on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Giving a talk in sacrament meeting is always scary but when it's in a language that you're not fluent in it's a little more scary. But it turned out all right.
Thursday we met Jose. He is cool. We just knocked on his door and invited us in and gave us Gatorade. We had a good lesson with him. He then he gave us a $40 gift card to the restaurant that he works at!
Then Saturday we went to see an investigator Edwin. His wife Rosa was outside cooking some authentic food from El Salvador. She fed us the amazing food while we talked to them.  It was really funny because Rosa had heard some thing about the church that aren't any where true. So she went inside and got her Bible ready to bash us. She came out and asked us a few questions about the Holy Ghost, Jesus, and Heavenly Father. She was really confused because she didn't think Mormons believed in the Holy Ghost or that God is our father but we do. Edwin knew we did so he was pretty much teaching her it was cool. They then asked well what the difference between our church and yours. After teaching this they said that it came down to. Coffee, dancing (it's apparently a sin to dance in their church), and prophets. Then about an hour and a half later we had dinner with a member who fed us a ton. Then an hour after that we went to go contact a referral and they were having a big fiesta and invited us to eat. We were really full that day.

¡Espero que tengas una buena semana! Gracias para toda que has hecho para mí! Te amo!

Week 34

Easter was good. I woke up Easter morning without a trail of jelly beans to my Easter basket. But it was still good.
I went to church and actually understood a good amount of sacrament meeting and Sunday school. Then did some missionary work and then went to a members house for some good food.
I have been eating some different food. But nothing too out of the ordinary. This week a member fed us some sopa and then gave us a big plate of rice beans and these really good burrito things. I felt like I was at a restaurant. And then the next day another member made us sopa de queso and the same thing pretty much. It was delicious. So food has been great so far.
I'm sorry but I have failed with pictures I have only one of a photobombing goat. I hope you have a great week!

Tried taking a selfie with a goat, it was a bit of a struggle... he wouldn't look at the camera, but his friend photobombed.

Week 32

Hi Everyone
This week was awesome!  It has been raining a lot but it's warming up. Today is bright and sunny. We had zone conference Friday. And it was awesome- probably the best zone conference I've ever been too. And we had General Conference and that was awesome! How awesome it is to hear from the prophet. We watched conference in English. We were going to watch the Sunday night afternoon session in Spanish with one of our investigators but last second he said he just wanted to watch it on his phone at home.
Here's a funny story: there is a family of 8 that were recently baptized so we went over to tell them about conference weekend. We had the family get assembled together and talked about prophets apostles and what conference is. After we showed the video 'Where Justice, Love, and Mercy Meet' (awesome Mormon message check it our if you haven't) anyways Elder Radman explained what the video is about. What he meant to say "this video is about two boys that climb a cliff without ropes" he said this in Spanish. He didn't know the word for rope and said "sin ropas" meaning without clothes. A surprised look was on the face of sister Rodriquez. I hurry and jump in saying. No no no. I quickly look up the word for rope and explain that they were without ropes and had clothes. We couldnt stop laughing.
