Week 40

Hey everyone!
This week was really crazy and much happened. Tuesday we had exchanges with the Elders in our district. It was good. Wednesday we went to try to see our investigator Odalyys who has dropped of the face of the earth. We went and knocked on the door and her older sister (Arline) opened the door like always and said she wasn't home. Arline hasn't ever taken much interest into talking with us but Wednesday she started asking questions about what we do and then turned into a restoration lesson. She was very interested in the message and has desires to get closer to Jesus Christ. It was awesome and on top of that she told us that Odalyys had moved and gave us her address and we were able to go see Odalyys Saturday. Odalyys said that she has been reading the Book of Mormon and wants us to come Monday night and teach her and she would have her boyfriend over too so we could teach him as well!
Thursday we had zone conference and it was the best zone conference ever! President McCuistion is awesome!
Friday we had exchanges with the zone leaders and it was awesome. I was able to go with Elder Sperry I learned so much from him. Saturday I had one of the strangest experiences of my life. One of our investigators Salvador invited us to have dinner with him and Claudia an other investigator that's really elect. We talked to Salvador on Wednesday and he mentioned that he had another personality that is a woman. He briefly mentioned it and we weren't too sure if he was serious. Anyways I gave him a call Saturday morning to see if we are still good for dinner. He told us on the phone that we were going to meet his other self at dinner. We were scared to go but we went because we were hungry and needed to talk to Claudia. We show up and Salvador is completely crossed dressed introduced himself in a girly voice as Mariela. It was very strange. But on the plus side the tacos were really good.
Anyways that's a real short overview of my week. I hope you all had a great week!

Week 39

This week was alright. We had one of our most solid investigators drop us so that was sad. And we dropped another investigator Jose, the guy that went to Living Legends with us. He wouldn't read the Book of Mormon ever so we tried to find out why. He believes that bible is the only book you can read. After testifying and teaching prayer and how we can know of the truth through prayer he still wouldn't read or pray about it. So I asked him, "If God himself came to you, gave you a book and told you that it's His word and to read it, but it wasn't the Bible would you read it?" Joses response was, "No" It's was frustrating to hear this religious man say that he would tell God no. But we are moving forward and found some other cool peeps to teach.
Church was good. I can tell that my Spanish has improved a ton from when I first came to Kellogg to now because I can understand so much more.

Week 37

Hey everyone!
What's up??? This week I had some cool experiences. We went to the living legends show put on by BYU with our investigator Jose. Jose is a homie so it was fun to hangout with him and get to watch a show. Then the next day Jose invited us over to his sisters house for lunch and she made us some pozole. It was real good.

Then later in the week we met Joses niece Jasmine. We taught her the restoration gave her the restoration pamphlet and a Book of Mormon.
The next day when we went over she had read the whole pamphlet, into to the Book of Mormon and the testimonies. And on top of that she took notes and wrote down questions. So we had a great lesson with her answering her questions. At the end of the lesson we talked about prayer. When we had her read Moroni 10:3-5 she was in tears. The spirit was so strong! She texted us last night and said that she had prayed and that she thinks she has gotten an answer! So that's exciting! We are going back tonight.

I am loving it here in Kansas Wichita Mission! And loving serving in the Kellogg branch! The work is hastening and miracles are being seen!
The church is true!

I failed with pictures this again this week but here is  two pics that show the flatness of Kansas.

The Elect and Chicken Feet

Hey everyone!

Transfers are this Wednesday and I am going to be staying in Kellogg with Elder Radman! I'm really pumped that I'm staying. This week was great. I'm really looking forward to this next transfer. All the districts in the zone got changed up and I like it. So it's gonna be good. The last couple of weeks have been amazing and miracle filled and things are really getting done here.

Here are some of the sweet miracles:

Monday: Went over to see Jose (the guy that gave us a $40 gift card his restaurant) and to set up a time the next day to go in a tour of the church. He said "I can't tomorrow but could we go tonight" so we had a church tour with him and it was awesome. Tuesday there is this thing called living legends by BYU and we can go if we have investigators with us and Jose is going to come with us. So that's going to be fun.

Tuesday: We met Odalis. She and her younger brother and sister have met with missionaries like over a year ago. (We haven't talked much to her siblings yet) Anyways she invited us right in and pretty much asked to be baptized and for us to give her a Book of Mormon and a chapter to read. It was awesome. She is really busy so it's hard to see her but we are going to see her tonight so that's going to be awesome.

Wednesday:  We had a lesson with one of our investigators Josue. He is a freshman and he had some deep questions about God and prayer. We taught him the restoration and before we even said anything about Joseph Smith he was asking, "Why are there so many churches? Why are they so different? How do we find the true church?" We taught the restoration and the spirit was super strong and at the end of the lesson we invited him to pray and he said the most sincere prayer. After the prayer we asked him how he felt and he said, "enlightened"

We went to a members home for dinner and had soup. I lifted up my

spoon and saw a chicken foot
